ECM or Enterprise Content Management.

What does Enterprise Content Management really mean?  There are several visions on ECM. Gardner defines it as a technology that spans five key functionalities: content generation, content processing, content distribution, content storage and content access. AIMM on the other hand defines ECM as a technology that encompasses the strategies, methods and tools used to capture, manage, store, preserve and deliver content and documents related to organizational processes.  As you can see, different definitions, different views, but what is our take on ECM? As content is a main driver of a business, we don't believe in a single solution to cover all of the user's needs. No, we develop an integrated open source stack, tailor-made to a company's specific requirements, that is the basis for a well-functioning digital workplace.

The RedTree ECM expertise & definition.

RedTree brings specific ECM expertise and services to the table. This expertise is structured along the following domains:  content capture, content management, content distribution and content enhancement services.

ECM Integrations in existing IT architectures.

RedTree is an IT integrator, integrating ECM elements in an existing IT architecture. Our multidisciplinary team of Business Consultants, Architects, System Engineers and certified developers are experienced in integrating technical components in complex environments.

ECM projects that rely on Open Source.

RedTree develops ECM platforms that are solely based on Open Source products. In contrast with big vendors as EMC, IBM, Oracle or Microsoft, who claim to offer a comprehensive product stack, we build an ECM stack with best of breed products and integrate them with standard protocols such as CMIS.

Our engineers are taking an active role in the community around the Open Source ECM products that we implement.

RedTree core values.

All products that we build to solve a customers' business problem meet our requirements and are aligned to our ECM vision. This vision is reflected in the core values that reflect in each product:

  • Open Source.
  • Web interface: There is no need to install client software in order to use the product. All functionality is available through a web interface.
  • Mobile friendly: Basic functionality, and preferably, full functionality is optimized for mobile usage, whether an app or responsive web.
  • Cloud enabled: It is possible to use the software in a cloud environment, in order to share and collaborate with external partners.
  • Integration Standards: The product is compliant with standard integration protocols (CMIS, SAML, oAuth, …)
