Bpost is the company responsible for the distribution of mail items in Belgium. Their services include the collection, sorting, transportation and order of letters and packages. They also offer financial products like bank accounts, insurances and loans. They have more then 500 post offices in Belgium, with their main office in Brussels.

With 30.000 employees on the payroll, Bpost was in desperate need of a solution that relieves the workload of the HR-department. RedTree provided them with a tailor-made Liferay solution.

The mailmen do not own a bpost email-adres, so they don't have acces to the ICT network. When they have HR related questions, they have to call to the HR-helpdesk. These question can go from "Help, i've been bitten by a dog" to "Which form do I need to fill in for the repayment of my train ticket?". Taken into consideration that Bpost has around 30.000 employees, it means the phone is constantly ringing. To lessen the workload for the callcenter employees, they searched for an online solution.

B-post was searching for a self-service online HR-portal where employees could perform HR-related tasks. This a positive effect on the productivity of the HR department.  RedTree designed an Liferay portal, accesble for all mailmen.

The portal isn't only designed for the mailmen, it also provides soms functionalities for the management.
